Biloxi Mississippi
hotels come in a wide range of prices, amenities and styles. You’ll find huge casino hotels and everything from unique historic homes and inns to national hotel chains. There are nine casinos located in the city of Biloxi with on-site hotels; one offers 1,740 rooms, located on the beach with golf packages, live entertainment, a lounge, restaurants, Jacuzzis and more. Another of the larger casinos offers 1,000 hotel rooms on the beach, with heated swimming pools, golf packages, convention/meeting facilities, full-service suites, restaurants, babysitting services and Jacuzzi rooms. Each is a member of the Hotel & Lodging Association. More than a dozen national hotel chains are located in the city, with many more locally owned hotels and motels. If you are planning a long stay in Biloxi, renting a condominium or beach house might be the best choice for you, and for those who enjoy camping, the Biloxi area has campgrounds and RV parks all up and down the coast. You can also find family owned and operated resort cottages nestled behind shady oaks, just minutes to the beach. Some of the more unique lodging choices in Biloxi are described in greater detail below.
For those who enjoy history, Biloxi has several historical homes and bed & breakfasts. The Inn at the Pass is an 1885 Eastlake Victorian home/museum that was completely restored in 1995 and is now on the National Historic Register. It is furnished with period antiques and art by local artists. If you aren’t interested in staying here, but would like to visit, tours are available to the public by appointment. The Santini-Stewart House Bed & Breakfast was built in 1837 and is Biloxi’s earliest example of the “American Cottage.” This Bed & Breakfast was the last home of Confederate General Alexander P. Stewart, and is also open for tours Monday through Thursday. There are many other historic cottages available for rent in the Mississippi Coast/Biloxi area, including a vacation home built by one of Biloxi’s preeminent hoteliers for his family in the early 1900s. It includes an upstairs suite with approximately 2500 square feet of living area, and a large, wrap-around porch. What a way to relax, kick back and forget your cares, sitting on the porch with large glass of lemonade and a good book
The Mississippi Gulf Coast has become a favorite destination for people who want to enjoy the beautiful weather and relax with the comforts of Southern hospitality. With an abundance of lodging choices, beautiful beaches, soft ocean breezes, excellent sport fishing and golf courses and exciting casinos, it’s no wonder why the Mississippi Gulf Coast has been named “The Playground of the South.” Most hotel accommodations and tourist attractions are located within the Biloxi City limits, either on or near the water. Imagine the serenity of a long stretch of white sand and the sound of the waves lapping the shore. Whether you’re seeking the excitement of the casinos, or the relaxation of the beach, Biloxi offers vacation living at its best.
